Our Story
After years of watching medical practices struggle with the impossible economics of internal triage operations, we built PCTS to offer a better path.
The problem was clear: practices needed reliable after-hours coverage, but building internally meant staffing inefficiency, turnover headaches, and surge vulnerabilities. Smaller practices couldn't afford the overhead, and larger groups struggled with consistency and redundancy.
We created a model where practices of all sizes can access enterprise-grade triage reliability through shared infrastructure and professional RN staff—all at a cost-per-call that makes economic sense.

Amber Girard is the founder and CEO of Pacific Coast Triage, a nurse-led telephone triage company dedicated to improving patient care and supporting healthcare providers with high-quality clinical decision support. With over 25 years of nursing experience, Amber built Pacific Coast Triage to help practices deliver safe, efficient care outside of traditional office hours.
Under her leadership, Pacific Coast Triage has grown into a trusted partner for healthcare organizations across the country, supported by a team of more than 100 experienced registered nurses. Her focus on clinical excellence, responsive service, and scalable solutions has helped medical groups enhance patient satisfaction while reducing provider burnout.
Amber is also the co-founder of HippoChat, a secure healthcare messaging platform designed to modernize communication between patients, nurses, and providers. Her work continues to center on creating practical technology solutions that improve care coordination and patient outcomes.
Amber founded Pacific Coast Triage with a simple goal: to make sure patients always have access to trusted clinical guidance when they need it most. She has built the company around a culture of clinical excellence, responsiveness, and genuine care for both patients and providers.
Based in Southern California with her family, Amber remains deeply committed to innovation, integrity, and compassionate patient care—building solutions that strengthen the connection between patients and the healthcare professionals who care for them.
